About us

Flowers

Flowers are present at every life event-  happy or sad, creating and conveying emotions with their scent and beauty. They are part of all cultures and ceremonies and by encapsulating them and other precious keepsakes, they are captured/preserved in time to treasure forever- this is your story to keep, captured in Stillife …

But life isn’t always flowers and rainbows,

supporting a loved one through mental illness can be exhausting. This has impacted my family over the past few years seeing someone so close suffer with mental illness.

I knew I needed to bring something special to the table.

”Stillife” bringing the stillness to life, reminding me that life is worth living, life is worth holding onto, life is precious.

$5 Per item will be donated to mental health awareness …

THE ARTIST DEBI

Hi, I’m Debi,

The artist and creator of Stillife. I trained at the Brisbury Horticultural Collllege in West Sussex, London, With a lifelong passion for anything and everything flower related, this has kept me striving to think outside of the square.

I’ve had over 30 years’ experience in the flower industry, running a very successful floral / event company, my extensive knowledge of not only fresh flowers but also with preserving flowers has opened the door to this amazing venture, and so “Stillife” is born.

Being able to capture and commemorate those precious memories in your life, forever in resin.

THE CEO TOBY

Toby came to us at the age of 8, a rescue from Queensland – but he soon settled into life here in Adelaide with his doting, Mum Dad and sooty the cat .

His main duties are…

  • Barking at the postman when your parcel arrives
  • Sniffing and inspecting your parcel.
  • Demanding, pats and cuddles every minute of the day.
  • then generally barking through the day until bed time – on the bed of course !!!

DANNY CO-FOUNDER

Danny is a talented artist, graphic designer, and musician. He has been involved in many advertising campaigns over the years.

His musical career has stretched over 40 years – most memorable being the opening act for The Rouge Traders in 2006.

He regularly gigs in Adelaide and is sort after, at many festivals.

Nowadays, he can been seen gigging around Adelaide with his solo acoustic act “ART ACOUSTIC “ playing many original songs – you’ll get to hear a lot on our Insta !!!

And he’s due to release his latest album in early December.

Because sometimes creative people have some very dark days his music and art have pulled him through, it is his healing – so it just seemed so right and natural that we should collaborate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Something you wanted to Know…

As our casts are in high demand, you can book anytime before your event-

However we recommend at least three months before, so that we are able to put aside and reserve your special mould to make your one-of-a-kind Rezin art.

But at times, especially for memorial pieces. We understand this isn’t possible (don’t worry we have an emergency plan !

Please call us directly to discuss.

There are many steps needed to prepare. Your stillife resin art work expect a turnaround of around 12 weeks. . ( it might be slightly longer up to 16 weeks during peak periods. )

  • At your reception or event, please keep the flowers as hydrated as possible.
  • Trim the stems – about an inch and place in a vase. Choose an appropriate box, place stems in some wet paper towel and put them in a little plastic bag with a rubber band around the stems.
  • DO NOT spray the flower blooms with water!
  • Label and Pack tightly with damp paper around the blossoms and place in a box labelled fragile and this way up

Then post to us…

Yes, any flowers that are completely dried can be used wether they are natural or artificial.

We recommend you choose a larger cast. If you have large flowers, or want to use most of your flowers.

Just be aware that the smaller moulds sometimes do not accommodate flowers such as large roses and natives etc

Still life will choose the most suitable flowers to work with that will give you the best look and outcome for your piece.

Be aware that some flowers dry better than others, and at times, colours, change or lose their vibrance.

Reds can become dark and purple looking , white , pinks sometimes can become transparent in places.

We can only preserve flowers in the condition that we receive them, sometimes bruising may not be evident to the eye, but when they are encased in Resin, it may show up at times .

Unfortunately, once your flowers start their journey in our resin moulds, it is too late .

When choosing your cast, please let us know in the comments if you would like to use most of your flowers “ Flower Burst “ Or just a few of them in a minimal design “ Flower simple “.

At times, some of the natural flowers will poke through the resin – this is just part of the process and adds to the natural beauty of your one off bespoke resin.

We use the best quality resin made here in Australia.

It contains a yellowing retardation . But make sure your piece stays out of direct sunlight (like a windowsill) and heat (fireplace) etc…

Although we take the upmost care and use the highest quality products, sometimes results are out of our control due to the items being a natural living thing , and we do not take responsibility for variance between flower, design and ultimately the final piece, and you just “ not liking it “.

Stillife makes one of a kind, 3-D resin art. They are individual handmade items, and one piece is never identical – you can expect at times micro air bubbles, and Layer lines. It is part of their beauty.

Please make yourself aware that ordering a stillife resin art is acceptance of our terms and conditions and above answers.
